Fish We Catch
Snook
Snook are ambush predators often found in the bay and mangroves. They are fun to catch and put up an awesome fight.
Redfish
Redfish, also known as red drum, channel bass, puppy drum, and spottail bass. They can be caught on a variety of natural and artificial bait. Live bait such as live shrimp, mud minnows, or small baitfish like mullet are great for tarketing redfish.
Speckled Sea Trout
Speckled Trout are the most commonly targeted species in the grass flats. They have a dark gray or green back with a fading silvery or white belly. Black spots on their back extend to their dorsal fins and tail. They can get up to 30" (10lbs). Their habitat is in coastal waters over sandy bottoms or seagrass beds. They are great eating and fun to catch!
Gag Grouper
Gag grouper can be found in coastal waters near structure such as rocky bottoms, reefs, wrecks and ledges. Juveniles can be found in estuaries and seagrass beds. They feed on other fish and vertebrae. Grouper are extremely hard fighting fish and they are delicious!
Shark Fishing
These toothie critters are a blast to catch! Being sharks are the ocean's apex predator, one might consider them the ultimate battle with a rod and reel. Some species we commonly catch are Hammerheads, Tiger Sharks, Black Tips and Bull Sharks. Ask us about our shark fishing trips!
Sheepshead
This fish is fun to catch! Sometimes called the convict fish, with five or six dark bars on the side of the body over a gray background. It has very unique teeth! We target them in late winter and spring.
Spanish Mackerel
This fish is bluish-green with fading silvery sides and golden-yellow spots. They get up to 36". Mackerel can be found inshore as well as offshore over grass beds and reefs.
Cobia
These fish are very strong aggressive
fighters! They are often mistaken as sharks.
Cobia like to hang out around structure
and can often be seen swimming near
the surface!
